Six Progressive Levels

Each level builds essential skills, confidence, and technique to prepare swimmers for the next stage

🌊

Level 1 – First Water Confidence

If your child is new to swimming, this is where it begins.

We gently introduce them to the water, teaching floating, blowing bubbles and moving safely in shallow water — all in a supportive, structured environment.

By the end of this level, your child will:

Feel comfortable in the pool
Float with support on front and back
Move independently in shallow water
Be happy with water on their face

This is about building trust, confidence and enjoyment — the most important foundations of all.

💧

Level 2 – Underwater Confidence & Independence

Now your child begins to truly explore the water.

They'll learn to submerge confidently, retrieve objects, float independently and start swimming short distances without support.

By the end of this level, your child will:

Go underwater confidently
Kick independently on front and back
Swim short distances with face in the water
Show real independence in the pool

This is where confidence turns into control.

🏊

Level 3 – Stroke Foundations Begin

This is where swimming starts to look like "proper strokes."

Your child will begin structured front crawl and backstroke drills, learn how to breathe to the side, and develop stronger push-offs and glides.

By the end of this level, your child will:

Demonstrate early front crawl and backstroke technique
Breathe correctly to the side
Glide confidently in streamline
Show confidence in deeper water

This level marks the transition from learning to swim… to learning to swim well.

🚀

Level 4 – Stroke Confidence & Deep Water Skills

Here, technique becomes stronger and more consistent.

Children build real front crawl and backstroke confidence, begin breaststroke arm action, and learn to tread water safely.

By the end of this level, your child will:

Swim front crawl and backstroke with correct breathing
Hold strong body position on top of the water
Show growing deep water confidence
Demonstrate early diving skills

This is where swimmers begin to look like young athletes.

🏅

Level 5 – All Four Strokes Introduced

Now we introduce all four competitive strokes.

Swimmers develop endurance, improve breaststroke timing, and attempt butterfly arms and legs — building coordination and strength.

By the end of this level, your child will:

Swim 25m front crawl and backstroke confidently
Show correct breaststroke timing
Attempt butterfly action
Swim longer distances without stopping

At this stage, many swimmers begin to show readiness for club pathways.

🥇

Level 6 – Strong, Continuous Swimming

This is our highest Learn to Swim level.

Swimmers refine technique, build rhythm and endurance, and swim continuous distances with good stroke quality.

By the end of this level, your child will:

Swim 50m front crawl and backstroke with control
Swim breaststroke with proper timing
Demonstrate strong streamlining and sculling skills
Swim 100m continuously using different strokes

From here, swimmers are fully prepared to transition into our competitive squads — if they wish — or continue swimming confidently for life.

A Clear Pathway Forward

Our Learn to Swim programme feeds directly into our competitive squads.

Academy Squad Trial

Children who complete Level 6 progress into our Academy 1 Squad, where structured training, racing and long-term athlete development begin.

Not every swimmer will choose the competitive route - but every swimmer will leave our programme confident, technically strong and water safe.
