The Irish Open Swimming Championships at the NAC, Dublin over the last 4 days , saw three of City of Belfast’s swimmers reached Junior finals – (18yrs &U for the boys and 17yrs &U for the girls)
Alex McCrea (15yrs) was a fantasic 1st in the 50m junior free final- with a pb of 27.53.
Florence Tinsley (15yrs) was 6th in the 100m junior back final and 5th in the 200m Junior back final with big pbs in both.
Michael Hewitt (16yrs) qualified for the 100 free Junior final.
Emma Montgomery (14yrs) was first reserve for the Junior 100m free Final, and Fionnuala Murtagh (15) had a super LC pb in her 50m back.
This year’s Championships saw a number of Irish Senior and Junior records broken and it was great for our swimmers to get more experience and rise to challenge and perform on this National stage.
