City of Belfast SC are looking to continue the development of the club with the appointment of a Head Coach from the start of the 2019-2020 season,commencing at the end of August 2019. This is due to our current Performance Coach taking up an exciting coaching opportunity in New Zealand. The club currently has approximately 140 members, ranging from our pre-competitive Aquastrokes programme (i.e. transitioning from LTS), to Ulster Regional Squad members. We train at a number of facilities in Belfast and at Bangor Aurora.

The successful candidate must be able to:

– deliver a range of coaching programs to swimmers with a variety of abilities.
– support and develop a team of coaches.
– attend competitions
– liaise with parents and club committee on matters relating to swimmers’ and club development.

The Head Coach has a key role in imparting the ethos of the club and contributing to its success. He or she is required to provide skilled and confident leadership to swimmers, fellow coaches and club volunteers to help swimmers achieve their full potential. The Head Coach will be required to provide regular training to a number of squads, including leading the Performance Squad, and will be expected to attend competitions as well as undertaking the necessary administration to complete these tasks. The Head Coach will be expected to provide reports on competition performances. The successful candidate will be expected to co-operate fully with the club committee in matters relating to the development and running of the club. The Club currently has an Assistant Head Coach in post with whom the Head Coach would work to manage the squads and develop the club.
