Excellent performance of CoB swimmers at the Swim Ulster Development Meet 4 that was held at the Lagan Valley Leisureplex in Lisburn on 18 May 2019.
Over a long day of races, 23 CoB athletes — with ages ranging form 10 to 15 years — gave a display of their skills and fitness against a vast representative of swimming clubs coming from the whole province.
With 38 PBs achieved over the whole spectrum of events that have been swum, CoB’s athletes have been among the protagonists of the Meet. Highlights of the day were the gold medals secured by Claire Allen in the Girls 100m freestyle (10 years old) and Thomas Price in the Boy 200m Individual Medley (12 years old). Remarkable performances by Bea Cross, Beth Doherty, Jane Kane, Izem Kazanci, and Lucas Price, who all secured medals, and again Claire Allen and Thomas Price.
This is an excellent omen for the remainder of the season, which will see CoB involved in a handful of galas and meets and thus additional chances for our swimmers to test the results of an intense season of training.
The Club is grateful to Sophia Cross (Development & Age squad Coach) and Stephen McKay (Junior 3 squad Coach) for leading the team over a long day, and the parents who assisted during the gala.
