About

Swim Belfast was formed in 2021 following the merger of Templemore ASC and City of Belfast SC into one single entity and program, affiliated to both Swim Ulster & Swim Ireland.

We aim to provide a full end-to-end swimming pathway that gives all children and athletes, young and old, the opportunity to learn and develop their swimming skills in a safe, fun club environment.  We are located at a number of venues across the City which makes our program accessible to swimmers all over Belfast and the surrounding areas.

Our program begins with initial water confidence and learn to swim programmes, and progresses into competitive swimming right through to our Performance Sqaud.  We take a holistic approach with our program, that supports children and athletes to ensure they develop and achieve their goals.  Whether that is to be a performance swimmer, a masters athlete or someone who wants to swim once a week for fitness and socialising.

Both Templemore ASC and City of Belfast are both long established, successful clubs with firm roots in the community.  Both clubs have achieved the Sport NI Club Mark and Swim Ireland Club Mark accreditation which we will carry into Swim Belfast.  These awards reflect a sound governance structure and recognition of embedded safeguarding children policies and development plans.

Above all we operate in a friendly fun-filled environment where the focus is solely on the swimmer, allowing them to be the best that they can, irrespective of what level of swimming they perform at.

We are very fortunate to have a highly qualified team of coaches and teachers who offer many years of experience in the sport.  We also provide mentoring for newly qualified coaches, many of whom have come through both clubs and are still swimming at a high level.
